Sub Sandwich On A Stick
Ingredients
- 1 bag store-bought meatballs or you can make your own
- 1 pkg Pillsbury garlic bread sticks - in the refrigerated section
- 1 green pepper
- 1 red pepper
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- wooden skewer sticks
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Preparation
Slice the green and red pepper. Unroll the breadsticks and separate them along the serrated sections.
Once the meatballs are ready, skewer the end of the breadstick dough and slide it to the bottom of the skewer. Leave enough room for someone to be able to hold the skewer. Then, skewer one meatball. Follow with a slice of red pepper, then green pepper. Again, add another meatball and continue with another set of peppers. Finally, add the third meatball and end with another set of peppers. Then, take your breadstick and wrap it around the meatballs and peppers until you get to the very top. Then, secure the breadstick dough by piercing the end of it on the top of the skewer. You can top it off with another slice of pepper.
Line a baking sheet with foil and make sure it is well greased. Bake according to the garlic bread package instructions. Typically for 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees.
Once the breadsticks have baked around the meatballs, remove from oven and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Serve immediately with a side of warm marinara sauce.
