Fresh Flower Strawberry Salad w/ Cheese Crouton

This is a wonderful salad that looks as good as it tastes!

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg store-bought salad mix with arugula
  • 5 large strawberries
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese (any variety or a mix)
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • 1/4 walnuts (or any nut that you like)
  • Edible flowers (you can either purchase them at your local grocer or grow your own)

Preparation

Empty the salad mix into a large bowl.
Slice strawberries lengthwise and add to salad mix
Add raisings and walnuts
Toss with a light raspberry vinaigrette dressing (we use a store-bought )

To make the crouton, lightly oil a large skillet.
When hot, add the shredded cheese and make sure that all the cheese is touching each other in the pan so when it melts it forms once unit of cheese. Once the cheese has gotten lightly crispy, remove from the pan and let cool.
If you are serving the salad in individual plates, add the cheese crouton as a delicious garnish on top. If you have the salad on a buffet for self-serve, have your croutons sitting on a plate for people to add to their salad.

The edible flowers should be sprinkled on top of your tossed salad
